I hate to be the bringer of bad news, but what i've heard can't be good.
I've heard that the higher ranks of the RAF have decided that there will be NO flying RAF aircraft in the Machloop area for the upcoming 6 weeks. Don't know if anyone has got some trips planned to there, but the only thing you are going to find are Eagles.

This has come from a "reliable source" who I won't name...for obvious reasons.

Unfortunately this supports the messages posted by Coronet.

Maybe it can be "firmed up" by asking Valley Aviation Group or similar who will possibly know if the routings have changed?

Following the 'I'm with stupid' photo in the national press, 31 Squadron got a severe bolloc*ing for their behaviour (= RAF severe Lack of Sense of Humour). It's lead to a complete review of all squadrons' low flying and antics (a.k.a. tactics)!!

Also, during the previous week, an over-enthusiastic pilot overcooked it in a Hawk, with an inverted negative G turn on the Bwlch, which came very close to wipe out of plane and photographers, so a review has been called.

New RAF Orders are:

1) Under RAF policy, 31 Sqd are currently banned from Mach loop for 6 weeks minimum.
2) All Squadrons banned from flying through 'Choke' points, ie where they expect photographers to be.
3) Currently all other low flying areas are preferable to LFA7 (Mach Loop).
4) No squadron/pilot communication whatsoever with photographers by fax/email/text/mobile, etc prior to sorties

Don't shoot the messenger!
May save someone some fuel!
