What a great site. I remember when RAF Lakenheath had the F-111s there, during the 1980s. Was stationed there while in the USAF from 1983-1985. Really enjoyed meeting great people, both Americans & Brits, while stationed there. It was hard work but well worth the effort we put in to help preserve the peace. The time off & able to travel while in Europe made the experience in England memorable!! Great site. I also enjoy the games. Cheers!!

I remember the F-111's at Lakenheath also, and the F-111's at Upper Heyford, I used to visit the Airshow there every year!
I live only an hour from Lakenheath so I'm a regular visitor there. With F-15's being based there it's a bonus because the F-15 is my favourite aircraft.

Nice Lightning shots,worked on these in the 70,s,the last and the best all British fighter/intercepter.They talk about "supercruise" on todays fighters not realising that the Lightning was doing it 40yrs ago.

some great pics, i was stationed at raf lakenheath. i was in the 493rd FS. great to still see the "gold" standard.
